Project Lead The Way

The Calhoun County High School's Trebuchet Team coached by Mr. Fersner competed at the Pumpkin Chunkin Challenge at The University of South Carolina on Saturday, November 13, 2021. Teams in the tournament were required to launch 2-pound water balls for accuracy and distance. Calhoun County finished first place in the distance competition. The teams were also scored in an engineering interview with tournament judges about the concept of their design as well. Members of the trebuchet team are Hugo Rivera-Cedano, Kristin Pondexter, Jaliese Fludd, Ethan Alsup, and Luther Alsup. Kudos to all PLTW students who assisted in designing and assembling the trebuchet.
